History of Wolverton
In the early 1900's when Alfred Newton Wolverton came to Vancouver, he purchased a Securities license and bought a seat on the Vancouver Stock Exchange. The business he started is known today as Wolverton Securities. Since 1910, Wolverton Securities has remained a family business based in Western Canada with head offices in downtown Vancouver's financial district.
Extending our reach. In the beginning the firm was primarily oriented to venture capital and resources. Realizing the need to grow and adapt in a global world, Wolverton recently opened offices in Calgary, Toronto, Sherwood Park, Red Deer and Kelowna to serve our clients and take advantage of regional industry expertise across the West.
Taking advantage of our expertise. Western Canada may well be the venture capital centre of the world, especially when it comes to mining and oil and gas exploration. Wolverton is a primary player in that market for this simple reason: If you look at mining operations in Siberia, South Africa or the jungles of South America, Canadians are running and financing the operations.
Building on our strengths. Certainly, Wolverton has more to offer than just venture capital. Wolverton delivers a wide range of financial services and products to individual retail clients, and to corporate and institutional clients through its network of over 100 Investment Advisors.
From the days of wooden sidewalks and horse drawn carriages to today's use of sophisticated technology, as the financial markets have grown more complicated and product offerings have become more diverse, we at Wolverton have expanded our skills, our reach and our strengths to meet the challenge. We're building tomorrow's portfolios today.
